ABC series “Pushing Daisies” blossomed at the 21st annual Reims International TV Festival, taking the prize for best series as the five-day event wrapped in the Northern French town Sunday.

Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, the first two episodes of the popular series about a pie-maker with the ability to bring the dead back to life won over the nine-strong jury led by director/screenwriter/playwright Nina Companeez.

The eccentric dramedy also captured the hearts of a special public jury who gave the series the TeleObs.com prize for best series. “Pushing Daisies” is set to air on French pay TV network Canal Plus in the coming months.

Marc Munden’s Iraq war drama “The Mark of Cain,” broadcast on the U.K.’s Channel 4, was awarded the Claude Santelli prize for best TV movie. The film’s stars Gerard Kearns and Matthew McNulty, shared the best actor prize for their roles in the critically acclaimed TV movie and director Munden was given a special “Groupe 25 Images” prize for his filmmaking.

Yuan Zhibo was named best actress for her role in Chinese TV movie “Wait for the birth of the husband” from CCTV6.

The SACD Prize for best screenplay went to Magnus Fiennes for the BBC’s “Five Days.”

The public jury’s TeleObs.com prize for best TV movie went to David Attwood’s “Stuart: A Life Backwards,” which aired on the U.K.’s BBC2.

“Stuart” also shared French movie network and Canal Plus subsidiary CineCinema Culte’s top nod for best TV movie with Khalo Matabane’s “When we were black” from South African network SABC.
